Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Pro Star Website Design ("we", "us") collects through https://www.prostarplanet.com, what we do with it, and how to reach us about it. We write it in plain language on purpose: a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

What we collect

• Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number and anything else you type when you contact us, request a quote, or sign up for a service.
• Information collected automatically. Standard web server logs - IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, the referring page, and the date and time. These are recorded for every visit to keep the service running and secure.
• Cookies. We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work, such as keeping you signed in to an administrative area. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to track you across other companies' websites.

What we do with it

• Answer your enquiry and provide the services you asked for.
• Operate, secure and troubleshoot our websites and hosting.
• Send information about work in progress, invoices and service notices.
• Meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

Only where it is needed to run the business, and only to the extent required:

• Service providers who work on our behalf - for example payment processors, domain registrars, email delivery and analytics providers.
• Where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the safety of others.

Google APIs

Some services we build use Google APIs. Where an application of ours receives data from a Google API, that data is used only to provide the feature the user asked for, is never sold, and is never transferred to others except as needed to provide that feature, for security purposes, or to comply with applicable law. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sites we host for clients

We host and maintain websites for other businesses. When you use one of those sites, the business that owns it decides what is collected and why - we process that data on their behalf under our agreement with them. Their own privacy policy governs your use of their site.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and project records are kept while we are working together and afterwards for as long as we need them for accounting, warranty and legal purposes. Server logs are kept for a short operational period and then rotated out.

Security

Our sites are served over encrypted HTTPS connections, administrative areas are password protected, and access to client data is limited to the people who need it to do the work. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise - but we take this seriously and we act quickly when something needs attention.

Children

Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can unsubscribe from any non-essential email at any time. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies, though parts of an administrative area may stop working if you do.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting existing clients will also be sent by email.
